Seriously? You’ve had this lined up AMG and decided to release it AFTER May 4th? Who’s in control over your marketing? Ferengis?
So five minutes ago AMG announced the following:

So the last entry is interesting. It replaces the old AT-ST (It’s already gone from the Asmodee shop page) features a „new engineering that allows for a better assembly experience“. Did they re-tool the complete kit? That would be interesting. Additionally you get two pilots (both look a bit too cartoony for my taste but that might just be the paint job). But thankfully you don’t need to buy the complete set only for the Chewbacca cards as they are also found in the „Logray & Wicket Commander Expansion“.
But again, why just now? WHY not yesterday? I don’t get it! Anyhow, where is my pre-order page from my FGS?
Atomic Mass Games – What are you doing?!
So yesterday was May 4th which is a pretty nice day for *any* company that sells or makes stuff in the Star Wars universe to promote the shit out of it.
Atomic Mass Games has 4 such franchised games under it’s belt:

You’d expect tons of social media posts from there. Especially in the year that marks the 40th anniversary for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
And did they do? As far as I can find they did two (2) articles that are copy & pasted over Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Drei Jahre Twitch Affiliate – Three years Twitch Affiliate
Heute in zwei Wochen (am 16.05.2023) jährt sich zum 3. mal mein Status als „Twitch Affiliate“.
Randnotiz: Ein „Twitch Affiliate“ ist jemand, der bestimmte Rahmenbedingungen erfüllt und theoretisch mit dem Streamen Geld verdienen kann. Ich habe in den 3 Jahren bisher 50€ verdient. Soviel dazu *g*
Wie dem auch sei. Das ganze ist nun mal ein Jubiläum und so etwas begehe ich hin und wieder doch gerne, vor allem, wenn es ein eigentlich sinnloser Blödsinn ist.
Um das ganze würdig zu begehen, habe ich bei den Verfolgern mal rum gehorcht und folgende Vorschläge bekommen:
- Deep dive in Dungeon Saga oder Heroquest Spezial
- Star Wars Legion Battlereport
- Die bei OTT gewonnene Indomidous Box anmalen
- Saga oder Clash!
- Ich denke, du solltest einen Hut tragen
- Du solltest eine hochgelobte, internationale IPTV-Persönlichkeit aus Irland importieren.
- Vielleicht könntest du für diesen Anlass eine besondere braune Limonade auftreiben?
- Bot War Schlachtbericht/Review/Diskussion?
- Hype aufbauen und dann in die Kneipe gehen und den Stream vergessen
- „Kneipenschnitzeljagd“ Wenn du mich findest, gebe ich dir ein Bier aus“. Fotos, halbe Fotos, kleine Hinweise auf der Karte usw.
Eine Menge herrlich blödsinniger Vorschläge. Aber noch ist Zeit, schlagt mehr vor! 8)

Two weeks from today (16.05.2023) is the third anniversary of my status as a „Twitch Affiliate“.
Side note: A „Twitch Affiliate“ is someone who fulfils certain conditions and can theoretically earn money by streaming. I have earned 50€ in the 3 years so far. So much for that *g*.
Be that as it may. The whole thing is an anniversary and I like to celebrate something like that every now and then, especially if it’s actually pointless nonsense.
In order to celebrate the whole thing in a worthy manner, I asked the chasers around and got the following suggestions:
- Deep dive of dungeon saga or heroquest special
- Star Wars Legion battle report!
- paint the indomidous box set you won
- Saga or Clash!
- I think you should wear a hat
- You should import a highly acclaimed, international IPTV personality, from Ireland.
- Perhaps you could find some special brown lemonade for the occasion
- Bot War battle report/review/discussion?
- build it up to something amazing and must see, but then actually just be down the pub and forget to stream
- or do a different kind of stream where you give out clues on the day of where you might be for a pint and its an open invite for beer. ‘if you can find me I’ll buy you a beer’ type thing. photos, half photos, minor map clues etc
A lot of wonderfully stupid suggestions. But there’s still time, suggest more! 8)
Cutting budget and limit spending

I should have done this months ago but I really couldn’t bring myself to it. After all, it’s money somebody else „depends“ on. But I also do depend on my money. So does my family.
And this is why I cut my hobby budget. I cancelled all but two „hobby subscriptions“ (neither are over at Patreon)
Sadly it’s a necessary step for me but still it feels „wrong“ and „bad“. I’ve supported quite a number of creative people via Ko-Fi, Patreon, Tipee and directly. I really feel the need to explain to each individually why I needed to do this but then again I’m pretty sure most (if not all) will understand.
It’s a hobby. Hobby should only be funded with „disposable income“. And if there is no disposable income, then there can be no hobby.
This also means I will not back any more Kickstarters this year (Maybe the 1€ coin in the hat pledge to show support but nothing substantial.) And new releases will have to wait until I’ve saved up some funds.
My p.o.o. (Pile Of Opportunity) is still substantial enough do get me through 2023.
I was thinking of posting the actual numbers online but that is not the point. Regardless of how much or how little you spend on your hobby: if it hurts you in other places of life you should rethink your spending. Be that 5, 50 or 500€ per month.
Spend your money on the necessary items first!

Ich hätte das schon vor Monaten tun sollen, aber ich konnte mich einfach nicht dazu durchringen. Schließlich ist es Geld, von dem jemand anderes „abhängig“ ist. Aber auch ich bin auf mein Geld angewiesen. Genauso wie meine Familie.
Und deshalb habe ich mein Hobby-Budget gekürzt. Ich habe alle bis auf zwei „Hobby-Abonnements“ gekündigt (beide sind nicht bei Patreon)
Leider ist das ein notwendiger Schritt für mich, aber es fühlt sich trotzdem „falsch“ und „schlecht“ an. Ich habe eine ganze Reihe von kreativen Menschen über Ko-Fi, Patreon, Tipee und direkt unterstützt. Ich habe wirklich das Bedürfnis, jedem einzelnen zu erklären, warum ich das tun musste, aber ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass die meisten (wenn nicht alle) es verstehen werden.
Es ist ein Hobby. Ein Hobby sollte nur mit „verfügbarem Einkommen“ finanziert werden. Und wenn es kein verfügbares Einkommen gibt, dann kann es auch kein Hobby geben.
Das bedeutet auch, dass ich dieses Jahr keine Kickstarter mehr unterstützen werde (vielleicht die 1€ Münze in den Hut, um meine Unterstützung zu zeigen, aber nichts substantielles). Und neue Veröffentlichungen werden warten müssen, bis ich etwas Geld gespart habe.
Mein P.O.O. (Pile Of Opportunity) ist immer noch groß genug, um mich durch das Jahr 2023 zu bringen.
Ich dachte daran, die tatsächlichen Zahlen online zu stellen, aber das ist nicht der Punkt. Unabhängig davon, wie viel oder wie wenig du für dein Hobby ausgibst: Wenn es dir in anderen Bereichen des Lebens schadet, solltest du deine Ausgaben überdenken. Ob das nun 5, 50 oder 500 € pro Monat sind.
Gebt euer Geld zuerst für das Notwendige aus!

Oder auch: Gut Ding will Weile haben. Aber was ist passiert? Gestern bekam ich ein Paket aus Irland von OnTableTop (OTT).
OTT ist ein Tabletop Hobby Blog/Forum/YouTube community Hybrid wo sich ein Haufen schräger Vögel zu einer Art erweiterten Familie zusammen geschlossen haben. Früher hieß OTT „Beasts Of War“ und ist damit auch wohl noch einigen ein Begriff.
Was macht dieses Paket jetzt so besonders? Nun zum einen ist es seit Ende 2022 Unterwegs [1] und zum anderen habe ich nichts bestellt.
[1] Es war nicht wirklich so lange unterwegs. Aber der gute Mann, der bei OTT primär für Verpackung und Versand in diesem Fall zuständig war, war zwischendurch im Krankenhaus. Noch einmal gute Besserung an dieser Stelle Justin.
Wenn ich aber nichts bestellte habe, was ist dann drin? Das hier:
Ende 2022 hat das Team bei OTT sich entschlossen einige der aktiveren Mitglieder auszuzeichnen. Unter den Auszeichnungen waren Dinge wie:
- Arty Apostate – Painted A Rediculous Amounted Of Miniatures
- „Ftang That’s Cool“ – Created Something Utterly Amazing That Took Our Breath Away!
- Ancient Disciple – Created An Amazing Historical Project
- Cosmic Creator – Created An Amazing Sci-Fi Project

- Pulp Prester – Created An Amazing Pulp Project
- Masonic Engineer – Created An Amazing Piece Of Terrain
- Neophyte Of The Year – New Community Member Of The Year
Alle haben so eine Plakette bekommen. Und dann war da noch der hier:
- Andy Zeck Memorial Award – Made A Significant Contribution & Impact On The Community
Andy war ein sehr aktives und positives Mitglied bei OTT, ist aber leider 2020 verstorben. Diese Auszeichnung soll sein Erbe in Ehren halten. Und ich bin der erste, der diese Auszeichnung bekommen hat. Was mich immer noch sehr sprachlos macht.

Ich weiß, dass ich das an vielen Stellen schon einmal gepostet habe, aber ich musste das noch einmal im großen Zusammenhang zeigen. Wie im Zitat oben schon gesagt: ich bin nicht stolz auf viele Dinge, aber auf das hier schon.
